特徵描述

形態特徵

Stems unbranched or with 2-3 branches per node, 20-160 cm tall, 1-7 mm in diameter; stomata in 1-3 lines in the grooves.
sheaths longer than wide, the lower sheaths with a brown band, the upper ones green; teeth 3-9 mm long, having brown centers with white margins, when broken off, leaving a brown rim at top of sheaths. Strobili apiculate.
Cross section of stem showing vallecular collenchyma not extending to vallecular canal; endodermis double, i.e. with an inner and outer endodermis.

分布

世界 : east and south Africa, across Europe and Asia from Holland to Japan reaching as far south as Taiwan.
